Victoria - Great Ocean Road - W
Great Ocean Road, Highway B100
West of Cape Patton
Photos progress and face eastward unless I say otherwise.

Leaving The Grotto, here's the view toward London Arch (off the back of that last bluff - see big link at bottom).

Looking back west from east of Port Campbell.

Thunder Cave is on the end of this spit (see big link at bottom).

Leaving Loch Ard Gorge, here is some of the scenery of Twelve Apostles Marine National Park. The last photo, the only arch featured on this page, is on Castle Rock at Twelve Apostles Lookout. You can walk on it.

The highway briefly leaves the ocean to visit Lavers Hill, and I get my first looks north at the Otway Ranges from the highest part of the road, on either side of town.

After 40 minutes inland, I finally spot the ocean again at Castle Cove. I just as quickly say goodbye to it again after passing through Glenaire.

More of the Otway Ranges, now on Cape Otway itself, which divides the Indian Ocean/Great Australian Bight from Bass Strait.

From Marengo on, I'll be following the open seas of Bass Strait. These photos gradually pan from right to left.

But before we go any further, let's pause to remember the heroes of Apollo Bay at the war memorial.

I kept the tree in the first photo because coastal pines look cool and not at all like other pine trees. The last photo is leaving Apollo Bay at Wild Dog Creek. Strap in for some scenery.

And here we are to Cape Patton, just like that! The extra-verdant 7th photo is facing northish.
