Virginia - Bland

Bland

You'd think a town named Bland wouldn't be interesting, but it's got a 19th-century courthouse. I didn't stop to check out... well, anything, but it's got an old bell and a monument to Thomas J. Muncy on the south side. He must have been a local, as apparently his friends put it up for the "lawyer - patriot - statesman." His most notable accomplishment was U.S. District Attorney for western VA, but he also ran for governor in 1917.

Here's everything together. I unfortunately missed the also-interesting Civil War monument on the north side.
