All photos were taken heading south.


The first two photos are to my west about 20 kilometres south of Coober Pedy. The next two photos are to my east an hour south (about 100 km).


Jumping well south, here's Lake Hart, the first large body of water I've seen since Queensland.


33 kilometres from Pimba, I come to Island Lagoon. To a weary traveler coming out of the outback, two lakes within 10 km is a very welcome sight that I'm reaching civilisation.


Taken from the Island Lagoon lookout, with the lake to the southwest.


The first two photos are to my right (a left/right pair), and the last is to my left.


The last licks for Island Lagoon, at its northeastern arm.


I think this is the highest-resolution photo on any of my outback pages. It looks south.


The next set of photos takes me to Lake Windabout to my left (east) as I enter Oakden Hills Station. The 2nd and 3rd photos are a left/right pair to the west.


The scenery to my west is red rock inclusions similar to Uluru, weathering slower than the rest of the great plain.


To my east, we start to see the northern reaches of the Flinders Ranges pop up in the background. From this point forward, if it's low to the ground and looks reddish, it's to the west. If it's spiky and in the distance, it's to the east.


First 3 west, last 2 east. You got this.


The first two photos are a left/right pair of a longer mesa to the west, as the red mounds start to elongate. The last three photos pan from left to right looking east.
