Pennsylvania - Meadville

Meadville

Photos progress from south to north around Diamond Park in the heart of the city.

The Unitarian Church is not pictured here. The one you see is the 1904 First Baptist across the street.

The 1870 Crawford County Courthouse is on the east side of the park.

The 1890 Civil War monument, Crawford County's tribute to her loyal sons, is in the center of the park, with some historic houses behind it to the west.

The 1867 Italianate Tarr Mansion is on the northeast corner of the green.

The 1837 Christ Episcopal Church is across from it on the northwest corner. The giant tower was added during 1880s renovations.

Now called Parkside Commons, this started out as Meadville High School in the 1920s and then became the junior high.
