Highway 6, Queenstown-Lakes District -
Central Otago District to Lake Ha̅wea

All photos were taken heading south.

Leaving the lake behind, the Pisa Range is to my left in the distance and Mt. Brown is to my immediate right. This piddly 580-metre peak gets its own name, and the mile-plus skyscrapers along the Makarora River don't? Who's in charge here?

More Pisa to the left, and now Mt. Alpha and Roys Peak to the right (southwest).

Panning from left to right, I pause at the Harris Mountains in the distance, then end on an unnamed offshoot of the Southern Alps far across Lake Wanaka featuring Mt. Alta and the Minaret Peaks.

From just north of Albert Town, the Pisa Range rises to the left and the shorter Criffel Range to the right.

A panorama (left-right) to the west from there.

Now heading more easterly out of Albert Town, Mt. Burke is to the left as I look north (no name given for the peak on the right...) and the long Grandview Ridge is to my east. The eponymous Grandview Mountain is at far left in the second photo, followed by Great Rock and Trig Hill peaks, and the ridge trails on through the next two photos.

Looking north, the snowcapped peaks could be Maungatika and Mt. Melina/Mt. Prospect (in the same line, Melina being taller but in back of Prospect).

Two pairs of left-right photos.

A false panorama, with the photos separated by over a minute and some geography, but I start in the northwest with the snowcapped Young Range (back across Lake Ha̅wea, more than 2 km tall) and slowly come around past Grandview Mountain and down the ridge to the end in the east.

One more left-right pair of photos showing the Dunstan Mountains for the first time, and then I cross into Central Otago District at a non-descript line on a map (no distinguishing physical characteristic here in the valley).
