Manhattan - Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Boulevard

Starting in central Harlem, the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. Office Building is on its own road at 126th Street. Born as the Harlem State Office Building in 1973, it was designed in the Brutalist style by an African-American architectural firm.

Hotel Theresa was built in 1913 on the southwest corner of 125th Street.

The east side of the boulevard on either side of 124th Street yields the Greater Refuge Temple, renovated to its tie-dye colors in 1966.

On the northeast corner of 119th Street...

On the northwest corner, dating to 1921...

Finally, on the southeast corner.

Graham Court, built in 1920, is on the east side of the boulevard (formerly 7th Avenue) between 117th and 116th Streets.

Regent Theater, on the southwest corner of 116th Street, dates to 1912-1913 and is now the First Corinthian Baptist Church.

Looking southeast down St. Nicholas Avenue. #100 with the peaked roof dates to about 1875.

Now to the southeast corner of 115th Street, with St. Nicholas Avenue continuing on the other side of this "flatiron" building. #1893 Powell Boulevard was built in 1900.
