New South Wales - Uralla

Uralla

Photos progress north through town on New England Highway (A15).

The 1874 bank building at 98 Bridge St. is now a cafe. It may have started life as a house - John McCrossin owned it for the first 4 years.

The Royal Hotel. You know the year. It replaced a prior Royal Hotel that started life as Court House Hotel and a Chinese fruit shop.

At the corner of Hill Street, this general store actually began life with C. E. Solomons for 10 years. Fred Trickett extended the building and was the son of Ned "The Slab" Trickett. I leave the rest of this caption as an exercise to the reader.

Old advertisements to the left and right of Trickett's Stores. The one on the right was for Majora.
