Sydney - outside downtown

On Maroubra Road at Garden Street, Maroubra.

Anzac Parade at Todman Avenue in Kensington.

Look northeast if you get stopped at the Lang Road/Anzac Parade traffic signal in Moore Park, and you will see the Kennedy Hall and Main Arena towers from the old Sydney Showground lined up. The old showground was superseded by Olympic Park (see big link at bottom).

Ahoy from Moore Park Road in Paddington, at the corner of Anzac Parade/Flinders Street.

Continuing down Flinders Street. The first building is actually #471 South Dowling Street, the 1889 Sir Moses Montefiore Home for the Indigent Aged, but it's most visible from Flinders. The 2nd photo is #128-130 in Paddington.

On the corner of Bourke Street and Oxford Street at the multi-way intersection with Flinders Street.

Along Oxford Street, see an old building at Palmer Street and the Sydney Tower overhead.

The 1931 railway station at Liverpool and Elizabeth Streets, just before downtown.

Jumping west, Great North Road at Ramsay Road in Five Dock.

Marlborough Street at Lyons Road in Drummoyne.

To the north side of Sydney Harbour, naturally, you would find the North Sydney Post Office at Pacific Highway and Miller Street. It dates to 1889.

Luna Park is on the shore of Lavender Bay. You can't help but be happy here.

Guess where you'll find Church by the Bridge. Specifically, it's on Broughton Street, and opened in 1884 as St. John the Baptist Church.

Looking north from there along Broughton Street. Clearly, the bridge was built in 1932, and clearly, it was built to house businesses underneath. Not your traditional streetfront.

Looking south along Clark Road at the east edge of North Sydney, with I believe a dogwood and two jacarandas.

Did you say you liked jacarandas? Then drive up Wycombe Road in Neutral Bay.

Did you say you liked Neutral Bay? Then drive west along Military Road (Highway A8) to The Strand, a surviving Victorian shopping arcade from 1891.
