New South Wales - Katoomba - Katoomba Falls/Cliff View

Katoomba and Blue Mountains -
Katoomba Falls and Cliff View Lookout

Starting at Cliff View Lookout, and starting out looking southwest, I see Mukku Baluru Bluff in the far distance, behind Cedar Head, behind Castle Head, with Malaita Point in the foreground right. The remaining photos follow Malaita Wall around to the right and then down to a second shelf of cliffs.

Pivoting the other way from Castle Head, past Mount Solitary, past the Kedumba Walls in the background, to the promontory hosting Wollumai Lookout to my southeast.

I've moved over to the trailhead for Katoomba Falls, and these views start at Furber Lookout (the outcropping at right in the first photo) and follow this section of Malaita Wall back to the farthest pocket behind me to the right (north).

I also get an outstanding view of the Three Sisters from here - you can see more of them at the big link below.

To my east, the Falls themselves, issuing out of the rock face west of Cliff View Lookout.

While taking photos of the Katoomba Falls from top to bottom, I accidentally caught a strange white shape in the middle. (There's another one in the tree if you look carefully.) The Blue Mountains are home to wild cockatoos, as is Australia in general.

Approaching the Katoomba Falls, the Kedumba River flows through the Katoomba Cascades. Yes, they could have standardized spelling better. These make me want pancakes and syrup.

Heading downstream toward the falls, carefully.

These cascades are just before the big plunge.

The view out over Jamison Valley from the top.

Did you miss our little white friend? He wants you to know this shampoo is just glorious.
