New South Wales - Bells Line of Road

Bells Line of Road, Highway B59

All photos were taken facing south as I headed east. The road is named after Archibald Bell, Jr., early explorer who was shown the route across the Blue Mountains by Aboriginal Darug in 1823 and has given his name to the town at the west end.

A creek cuts a gully under Liversedge Hill to the Grose River in Grose Gorge. More Blue Mountains rise in the distance.

Looking across Grose Gorge at Anvil Rock (left) and Bald Head (right).

I found a good place to stop and take in a panorama of the wall at the far side of the gorge, except my camera was enamoured of the foreground trees.
