South of Cheboygan, at about Huron Beach and Rogers City, US Route 23 gets its best views of Lake Huron - despite following the shoreline, most of the route is enveloped by trees or towns.


Nope, not a lake, wrong side of the road. This is actually a former strip mine in Alabaster that has reverted to nature.
