Illinois - Springfield

Springfield

Just like old Route 66, this Henry Nelch store no longer exists, at 9th Street (now Business Route I-55) and Lawrence Avenue.

The Howlett Building houses the Secretary of State; Illinois government is very similar to the national one. They don't make buildings with random angry lion heads anymore.

Views of the Illinois Supreme Court.

The flagship of the city, and this page, is the State Capitol. I circle clockwise, starting in the east.

Three of the apparently many statues around the Capitol, but the only ones I found. Shown from south to north, the last is just a tribute to the coal miner.
