Most of the road is in a broad valley, so there's not much to see until the south end. I started hitting sunset 14 miles from the end of the road.


Bear Mountain to the east, Tehachapi Mountains to the south and left, San Emigdio Mountains to the south and right. I-5 and formerly US 99 cuts between the latter two ranges in Castaic Valley.
