Arizona - US 66 - AZ SR 66

State Route 66 (former US 66) scenery

Heading northeast from Kingman, looking east.

And west, with the aid of the sun.

This is what the sun does to eastern photos in the morning.

Following the path of the road northeastward.

Nestled among the cliffs on the northwest side of the road, and out of view (you can see the roof in the second photo), is Valentine, Keepers of the Wild. Whatever that means, because there's more wild than any man can possibly keep out here.

What's going on to the east in this area.

I've rounded the corner from northeast to east. These old motels and gas stations are in Peach Springs.

Views to the southeast, 12 minutes apart. Between those, I shot the following panorama to the north:

Photos go from west to east.

Northeast, nearing Yavapai County where the state highway ends while the old route continues.
