Canberra

Looking west from the Waterloo Bridge over Lake Burley Griffin. The red shape in the 1st photo is the entrance to the National Museum of Australia. The tall thing in the other photos is the Telstra Tower on Black Mountain.

Looking east from the bridge, this is the Captain Cook Memorial Jet. Too bad they couldn't give him a real jet.

Approaching Capital Hill from the north on Northbourne Avenue (A23) across Waterloo Bridge. Parliament House was designed with sloping sides to blend into the hill.

Looking back at the Canberra skyline and the parkway landscaping along Northbourne Avenue from the top of Capital Hill.

Proceeding around the east side of the 1988 Parliament House on the innermost drivable loop.

Architectural details to be found. The kangaroo and emu are national animals.

A view southwest along Federation Mall.

Head north on Federation Mall and you'll find the stately Old Parliament House, built in 1927.
