Waitangi Bridge is an old, long, one-lane, wooden bridge across the eponymous river. The forward-thinking engineers left passing pullouts at convenient intervals. Because they're on the left as I cross northward from Te Karuwha Parade in Paihia, NB traffic is always expected to yield to SB.


Heading back south to Paihia. I wonder how the occupants of these boats get to and from the shore. Boats serving boats? Wait for low tide?
