Poughkeepsie-Highland Railroad Bridge
East of the midpoint

Actually, this video covers my journey past the midpoint itself, heading from Highland to Poughkeepsie. Do not click if you or your loved ones are disturbed by atonality and modern/non-Western music.

A couple of looks south at the Mid-Hudson Bridge, US 44/NY 55. Not as many on this half of the walkway, though.

A view to the south of Poughkeepsie, and views to the north including what's left of the city that way. There just has to be a better use of the Hudson River waterfront than a crumbling parking lot.

Remember that parade? It's not done yet. Well, actually, it basically is, but I'm following it as it heads back into Poughkeepsie.

Heading westward, but taken walking eastward, onto the main span.

Looking directly down at the train station, US 9, and into one Poughkeepsie neighborhood.

Two more looks southward as the sky becomes bipolar, with the first photo's view extending beyond Poughkeepsie and the Mid-Hudson Bridge.

Two more looks northward. I took the second one as we were heading back to Highland.

Looking northwest (far and close), west, and southwest at the Highland side.

That's it, the end of the walkway eastbound.

Starting back across the bridge westward.

As a treat, a converted PT boat came down from Kingston to greet us with semaphore. I'm sure less than a dozen people on the bridge knew what he was saying, and most of them probably didn't see the boat.

A view from Kaal Rock Park to the south, taken during the Poughkeepsie meet in 2007.
