Down in the Battery Park area. I-478 was once considered to extend up the West Side Highway corridor at least as far as the Holland Tunnel/I-78.


For awhile I thought that was the only shield, but the more I look, the more I find. This one points northwest on Atlantic Ave. in Brooklyn.


This page now exists because I finally got into the tunnel to take these SB photos.


NB leaving the tunnel at the end of I-478, the signs look like they've been there since West St. was reconstructed in the 1980s.
