Historic Southern End

1 entered Pennsylvania on the "Trenton Makes" (Lower Trenton) Bridge in Trenton until the current bridge opened in 1952.

Southern End

1 enters Pennsylvania on the Delaware River in Trenton.


1 north across the Delaware River.


1 south at its last exit before the border and leaving the state.


Looking north from 1 along the river at its former crossing.
Original Northern End

Before the Holland Tunnel opened in 1927, US 1 used the Port Imperial ferry to New York at the end of Pershing Rd. in Weehawken.
Historic Northern End

Until the George Washington Bridge opened in 1934, 1 entered New York in the Holland Tunnel, which then became US 1 Business.

Northern End

1 enters New York on the George Washington Bridge with US 9/I-95 in Fort Lee.
