The Second Great Renumbering


For roads still under state maintenance, internal numbers are assigned as 8xx's (these are listed as "secret"). Downgraded state routes may be county, town, or anything but state maintained (unless specified as a county route). Downgraded 5xx county routes may still be 6xx (or 7xx) county routes, or may be maintained by towns or other lower-level authorities. Many 5xx SPUR and ALT routes have been recently downgraded to 6xx county routes; this list only includes those known to currently exist. If you can't find a route (like 124), check under its parent (like 24).
