Maine Roads - ME 16

Looking west toward Rangeley and the ME 4 concurrency (more photos at the big link at bottom).

The shield atop this page isn't the only old thing in New Portland. This dam and former mill race is at Long Falls, which holds back the Gilman Stream Reservoir.

Looking north at the reservoir.

You know I like windmills.

WB from US 201A past an old railroad bridge in North Anson.

Looking south along the trestle.

Looking west and east along the Carrabassett River that flows just south of ME 16.

Just can't trust those other state highways. They bring all the ugly shields with them. Good riddance, ME 8.
