Maryland Roads - Cumberland

Cumberland

A curious coincidence in Cumberland, before and after.

Some places call this a subway, on the southwest corner of Queen City Drive and Baltimore Street. This particular one is used to get under the 4 railroad tracks just to the east. Cumberland is one of far too many Queen Cities, this one named for being second to Baltimore once upon a time.

Looking south, the C&O Canal trail crosses the old canal at the mouth of Wills Creek, about to enter the North Branch Potomac River.

This is on the east side of the bridge. It looks like a restaurant hastily built a large wooden boat to advertise themselves. It's actually a full size replica canal boat, but I have trouble believing they looked like this. This looks like a first grader drawing their first boat.
