Kentucky Roads - US 641/62

US 641/US 62

Until recently, US 62 (later joined by US 641) went straight across the Kentucky Dam. Okay, the original bridge predated the Tennessee Valley Authority, so you can't travel that anymore (it crossed to the north, off of what is now KY 282), but you also can't cross the dam - at least by car. The Kentucky Dam holds back Kentucky Lake, but actually was built on the Tennessee River. Clearly there was an inferiority complex at play somewhere around here. These photos look north/east on the two routes.
