The first sign into the state is the weigh station sign. The first three guide signs are all button copy. I've been there for less than a minute and I already get the feeling I'll like Indiana.


And so far, I'm right. The last two photos are on the Exit 156 offramp and SR 101 NB in the same spot.


And the last photo is on the Exit 149 offramp.


One more exit, one more exit ramp photo, still all button copy. And suddenly, sadly, it tapers off almost completely.


Among the little button copy that's left, the unique old concrete bridge on an otherwise ordinary county road crossing is perhaps the most interesting item.


US 421, which joined onto I-74 a few miles back, exits onto I-465 here - and so does I-74. So while that freeway heads around the south loop and so do more photos below, here's one ugly shield from the WB-NB ramp as it heads past the Shadeland Ave. exit before merging into I-465.


The last signs in Indiana are for the first exit in Illinois.
