Onto a concurrency with CT 83 and off the other end.


EB traffic is signed to use Bolton Rd. to get to I-84 at Exit 66, although Tunnel Rd. works just as well, since they're connected by the same frontage roads to the same exit halfway between the pair. Why go extra distance to Bolton Rd. and have to come back west again, as seen in the 2nd photo? Fun fact: Tunnel Rd. is secret CT 533, and Bolton Rd. is secret CT 541 (which follows the SB frontage road from there).


A few minutes later, after passing the shield atop the page, you get this shield mess from the 1980's with the funky CT font that doesn't match anyone's standards.
