Oklahoma - US 66 - Miami

Former US 66, Miami

Not quite as modern as that other Miami you may have heard of.

The impossibly ornate Coleman Theatre, constructed in 1929 just when it seemed impossible for there to be an economic downturn that would forever eliminate impossibly ornate theatres. Here's what you're not seeing: "The elegant Louis XV interior includes gold leaf trim, silk damask panels, stained glass panels, a carved mahogany staircase, a 2,000 pound chandelier, decorative plaster moldings and railings." Oh, and a pipe organ. I think that lives up to the promise of the exterior.

Exiting town to the east. I hope this stays forever. All of this.
