New Jersey - Trenton Thunder

Trenton Thunder

On August 18, 2012, the Yankees' AA affiliate played the rival Orioles' affiliate, the Bowie Baysox. Unfortunately, Trenton lost, but that didn't stop Fireworks Night from proceeding.

A quite boring ballpark. The Delaware River is right there but hidden by walls and trees.

The Thunder's two themed mascots, Boomer and Strike. Boomer is a "thunderbird," which translates into "shapeless birdlike blob with 80s glasses."

The unofficial, unthemed mascot is Chase, the batdog. There has been more than one Chase. It's like Lassie. Just ignore the reality of death and pretend in the continuity of eternal life.

First on defense, then on offense, go the mighty Thunder. #49 is Zoilo Almonte, a future (brief) major leaguer.

Even in summer, the sun must eventually set.

Between innings, the Thunder honor all of the groups in attendance. Groups get to pick their own names. I want to join this group.

Somewhere in there, the Thunder get a run, and the Baysox are concerned. In the end, Bowie took the game 3-2. So let's mourn with fireworks!

America.
