New Hampshire - Portsmouth - N. of State St.

Portsmouth north of State Street

#150 Daniel Street, the 1716 Warner House, as I walk west from Memorial Bridge.

#123-129 Daniel Street, then taking a peek up Chapel Street at the 1807 St. John's Episcopal Church, reputedly the first brick church in New Hampshire. It even predated the 1814 Brick Act, which was enacted after the December 1813 Portsmouth fire and required buildings taller than one story to be built of brick.

Old City Hall, on the NW corner of Daniel Street and Chapel Street.

#85 Daniel, and then the 1817 Custom House at the SW corner of Penhallow Street.

A brief jaunt down Penhallow Street, ending with a look east on the Sheafe Street alleyway.

Market Street facing north at Bow Street, then looking east along Bow Street, and finally looking northwest along Market Street from there.

This building is on Market Street on the north side of Commercial Alley.

Heading south on Market Street toward Market Square, where we'll find Daniel and Congress Streets. You're about to see more of the church in the background.

The North Church of Portsmouth is between Pleasant Street/Market Square (1st photo) and Church Street (2nd photo) on the south side of Congress Street (last 2 photos).

Various closeups of the church.

Looking west along Congress Street from the area of the church.

The south side of Congress Street to the west.

Heading east, here's a view back at where I just was from Market Square.

The northwest and northeast corners of Market Square, Congress Street/Daniel Street at Market Street.
