Maine - Coos Canyon

Coos Canyon

Typical rest area along Maine Route 17, atypical rocks. I would imagine they were glacially tilled judging from the waviness of the overall rockform, but the striations are so perfect that they suggest an intelligent designer. I don't think anyone would spend the time to scorify them, though.

Not much of a canyon that the Swift River flows through, but it's carved out a few feet of rock to make its way to the Atlantic Ocean.

Small but pretty falls. Overall, I'd say worth the stop.
