Pennsylvania Roads - Central Scranton Expwy.

Central Scranton Expressway
SR 3022

Old shields on this eastbound assembly, where the CSE ends.

The raised asphalt median from the I-81 interchange gives way to the original sloped curb. The Northeastern states liked to build highways in the 1940's that had only sloped curbs for medians. You can also see from the cracks in the asphalt that this was originally a concrete highway.

Original arch overpass as Harrison Ave. passes over the Expressway (the only overpass except for the terminal interchanges).

We continue downhill to where you can see an old retaining wall on the left and Scranton approaching on the right. It's a wonder PennDOT hasn't installed a median barrier here yet.
