Oklahoma Roads - US 281/US 66

US 281, former US 66/281

One of the longest truss bridges you'll ever see, 38 spans crossing the Canadian River at the Caddo/Canadian County border, US 281/OK 8 NB/old US 66 EB. Question: did I catch all 38 trusses? See if you can figure it out.

Continuing east to the southern leg of the former US 66 wye intersection. Much of the leg remains, but the actual wye part is grassed over.

US 281 SB at the Cimarron River, a bridge that must be more interesting from the side given the old plaque.

SB and stopping at Little Sahara State Park, a mysterious anti-oasis of desert in the midst of verdant farmland.
