New York Roads - NY 233

NY 233

Somebody tried to rush the Thruway shield from NY 5 on north, and it shows. All of the lines are the wrong width, and New York looks like it was drawn with a butterknife dipped in treacle.

The old, slightly non-standard NY font is always the correct way to sign something. This wooden sign is on Cider St., the connector from NY 233 to the actual interchange, heading west (i.e. the direction most traffic isn't coming).

The shields in the second photo are perfect and beautiful, despite their age and the overlapping "WEST." One of the shields in the first photo, on Mill St. SB at Martin St. in Rome, is not.
