New York Roads - Jefferson Co.

Jefferson County

Calling Peter, Paul, Joseph... Actually, these are the only two religiously named streets, but they happen to intersect at the town green in Clayton (not seen here).

NY's reference routes are supposed to be unsigned. This is the only sign for this route, so it does absolutely nothing for anyone. Okay, I'm on Rte 971V. Now what?

CR 129 WB curves left to end at NY 342 but the stub end of Leray St. continues ahead.

CR 5 heading east from NY 12. The "5" has that stencil font I thought was unique to Albany County. It's even on the distance plaque below!

Looking south from CR 181 (Clayton St.) at the former end of CR 5, whose one-lane creek crossing was closed in favor of a modern bridge just to the west. The old bridge may still be there, beyond the underbrush.

Continuing east on CR 181 to La Fargeville, where it ends at NY 180, just before the beginning of NY 411.

Speaking of the weird font (not stencil-like after all), WB toward Cape Vincent and Tibbetts Point Lighthouse.

Adams Rd. WB, CR 75 entering Sacketts Harbor.

The same bridges, heading back east from Hounsfield St. to Hess Rd.
