Maine Roads - ME 115

Eastbound with US 202. Most Maine I-95 shields have the state name inside and don't look like typical shields, almost making the first photo an outlier by context.

This "5118" may be labeling the traffic signal at the corner of Elm St.; I can't come up with any better explanation.

Early 20th-century guide signs looked like this all over New England, although generally not painted over entirely in green. Poland Springs was not yet known as a water source for the entire Northeast. Note that what's now US 1 (or even possibly its old routing, ME 88) is referred to as "Federal Rd." This may date the sign to the 1920s when US 1 was designated.

EB and then up the US 1 NB onramp, past a passel of ugly shields.
