Georgia Roads - US 1

US 1

All photos southbound and courtesy Lou Corsaro. I may even have them in order!

Just after crossing from SC, SC 121 becomes GA 121 and GA 10 emerges as a shadow route that follows US 78 north of Stone Mountain (though exists independently south of there).

Bobby sez: love your state-name shields!

Four-laning (aka dualization) in progress. Georgia wants to four-lane US 1 through the state - not a terrible idea.

A pair of state-name I-16 shields to add to the mix. These photos comprise both ends of a business loop south of Swainsboro - you can see in the first photo how US 1 used to continue over the old loop.

Yet another single-dual roadway transition.

All southbound: state-name shield, narrow shield (in Lyons, near the community of Santa Claus), wide shield (in Alma).

Just in case you haven't had enough of twinning projects, here's the end of another section.
