Alaska Roads - AK 7

Like AK 6, AK 7 has several discontinuous sections. Unlike AK 6, these are connected by ferry (AK 6 is discontiguous by mountains and ice, making any connection between ends unlikely). AK 7 runs past such far-flung, disconnected places as Haines, Juneau, and Ketchikan, and thus has more different names than any other Alaska state route. The above shield is in Ketchikan, and the below photos are north of Juneau.

This sign is quite old, though the rain hides it. It is north of Juneau on a side road, at the northernmost traffic light in the area (and probably the northernmost traffic light of the Alaskan Panhandle). NB AK 7 is to the right.

Another old sign, this one on NB AK 7. Glacier Highway runs to the Mendenhall Glacier (photos on the scenery page) and back to AK 7.
